RECITAL-  Saturday December 7th.

Show 1: 10:30 am  //  Show 2:  1:00 p.m. // Show 3:   3:00 p.m. 
Please be sure to check which show time your child is dancing.  Cast list for each show is located here.  Dancers report backstage 30 minutes prior to show.  

Dress Rehearsal-  IN STUDIO dress rehearsal the week of November 30- during your regular class time.    All dancers are encouraged to attend their regular class time in full costume (hair and makeup optional- if you'd like to practice, great!  If not, no problem!).   During this time we will also take professional group photos that will be available via Digital Download!  Order online via your Parent Portal.  This image will be yours to download and print as you wish.  Again, this rehearsal is during your regular class time the week of Nov. 30-December 5.  Wear your costume!

Be Aware-  All recital fees, costume fees, tuition and outstanding balances must be paid before December 7 for students to perform.

 

After Recital-  Following recital, MLSD will be OPEN and having regular classes the week of December 9-14.  There will be TONS of fun and some special holiday surprises, so be sure not to miss this exciting week!  The studio will be closed for the holidays December 16-Jan 5.  Classes will resume on January 6!  No need to re-register.  Dancers will remain in their same classes unless parents change schedule.  As a reminder of studio policy- written notice of intent to drop a class must be provided by the 5th day of the month preceding the month you wish to stop taking a class. Any classes dropped after the 5th of the preceding month will be charged tuition for the next month. 

Recital Ads-  Have a business you'd like to promote or want to put a special message in our recital program for your dancer?  Check out all the information here.  All ads must be submitted by Friday November 1st.  

Individual Recital Photos- Vignette Portrait Photography will be taking individual recital photos IN STUDIO Saturday November 23!  Dancers are able to schedule their time slot to take their individual portraits.  No need to wait in line.  Hooray!  Portraits will be scheduled directly through Vignette Portrait Photography and online link will be provided once available.

Recital Volunteers
– We are looking for Volunteers for our shows!  Inside the Parent Portal you’ll be able to sign up for a time slot.  If you are NOT a recital volunteer you will not be permitted backstage for the safety of all students.  Parents of young children who may need help dressing may send one person backstage to help.  No guests or family members will be allowed backstage.

Recital Flowers-  Preorder your recital flowers for your dancer and they'll be waiting for you the day of the show!  So easy and you don't have to remember to do one more thing the day of recital :) . Single Rose- $5,  Trio of Roses- $10,  Mixed Bouquet- $15.  Preorder in the studio or via your Parent Portal.  Just click on the Shopping Cart icon.  Reminder- there will be a very limited quantity to purchase at the door, so make sure you pre order to ensure your flowers!  Must preorder by Saturday November 16.

Recital T-shirts-  Order your commemorative recital long sleeve t-shirt that includes a full cast list of students on the back and our recital logo on the front.  Shirts are available for children and adults!   Shirts can be ordered in the studio or online via your Parent Portal.  Design is posted in your Parent Portal and on our website.  Must preorder by Saturday November 16.

Where do I park?

In the front parking lot of the Judson Performing Arts Center located at 9443 Schaefer Rd, Converse, TX 78109

 

Do I just drop my child off?  Yes!  You’ll check in backstage with our staff and students will be lined up by class for their performance.  Each class will have a volunteer assigned to them, as well as room attendants and our staff. Should we need you, we have a list of all parents names and cell numbers should we need to contact you for any reason.  All parents of Combo and 1 level dancers will be given a wrist band as they check in. When we dismiss following the recital, you’ll need to show this wristband.

Where do I pick them up?  We will have each class dismissed directly from the stage following our Finale.  Parent who has their child’s wristband only will come to collect their child. If you must leave before the performance is over, you must let our front desk know IN ADVANCE so we can alert our volunteers.  

 

Where do I keep other costumes? We have a changing room for costumes, but please label your things

 

Helping my child change costumes without disturbing the show?  Our goal is to create confident, independent young ladies.  If your student is old enough to dress themselves, please refrain from entering the dressing room.  We also have volunteer “dressers” who will make sure their costumes are good to go! If you need to help a young child, please wait to exit the auditorium until in between numbers when the curtain closes.

Can I leave after my child’s performance? We would like our dancers to stay for the entire production to take their final bow on stage.  Each show is approximately 1 hour long, which is the length of our average class time, so think of it like a dance class.   Creating a professional production environment is our aim, and audience members leaving in the middle of the show can be disruptive.  If you must leave, let the front desk know in advance so we can alert our volunteers.

Where can my child eat if they are in multiple performances? You may eat out in the lobby areas or outside, but please no food or drinks in the auditorium.  MLSD has also invited several food trucks for your convenience that will be available on campus!

Can I take pictures and video during the performance?  Please refrain from all photography and video during the production.  You will all receive a professional digital download of the recital that you can share with family and friends.  We also post photos taken of our event in our private Facebook group for our families.  Recording or photography causes distractions for audience members and performers.  

What is the earliest time we can arrive? PAC doors will be unlocked 1 hour before each show.  

Do I need to purchase tickets? No.  Seating is General Admission.  PLEASE do not save seats.  

Can we preorder pictures, videos, shirts and flowers? Yes!  
Video:  You will be sent a digital download of the performance approximately 4-6 weeks from the date of performance- no purchase necessary!  


Flowers and shirts:  Flowers and shirts will be available for pre order via your Parent Portal or the front desk.  Preorder before by November 16.  Additional flowers & shirts will be available for purchase at the show but quantities will be extremely limited.


Group Photo:  Each class will have a professional group photo taken in studio the week of November 30-December 5.  Order these via your Parent Portal and your digital download will be sent within 2 weeks of photography.  Perfect for printing in Christmas gifts.  


Individual Photos:  Dancers have the option of taking professional portraits on November 23rd with Vignette Portrait Photography.  Portraits are done at MLSD and you will schedule your time slot individually.  Link will be provided to schedule your portrait time when available.  ​
